What is your fitness age?
A free 5 minute test that turns your pulse, your habits and a push-up test into one number you can improve.
Where it comes from
The test uses a model from the HUNT Fitness Study in Norway, which measured the fitness of thousands of adults on treadmills and found that a few simple questions predict it well: age, sex, waist or BMI, resting heart rate and how often and how hard you exercise.
Your estimated fitness is compared with healthy reference values for each age. If your fitness matches an average 30 year old, your fitness age is 30, whatever your real age.
How to take it
Sit quietly for a few minutes. The app guides a 30 second pulse count. Answer four questions about your exercise. Optionally, prop your phone up and do as many push-ups as you can: the camera counts them.
How to lower it
Regular training that gets you out of breath, two or three times a week, is what moves the number most. Retest after four weeks.
